Many of our Cooks and Bakers keep us updated with what they are doing in the world of Culinary Arts. Check this page for updates, pictures and news from the future leaders of the Culinary world!

Ja'von Deputy, CA '13 is currently in residency at the CIA in Hyde Park, NY.

Amber Snipes, CA '13 is pursuing her cooking degree in Phoenix, AZ.

Austin Moorhead, CA '13 is happily creating pizzas at Dom's in Newport, DE.

Brandon Lindell, CA '10 is cooking at a local eatery in Smyrna, DE and is in the Hotel & Restaurant Management program at the University of Delaware.

Ashley Anton, CA '10 is in Johnson & Wales' Masters program in Hospitlaity & Restaurant Management.

Aughtum Slavin, CA '10/Intern is finishing up at JWU's campus in Providence, Rhode Island and has just completed an internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando. She is part of the team at Teas & Javas in Providence.

Tim Barker, CA '09 is in the management program at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, Times Square. (Pictured below, right)


Rachel Payne & Danielle Clark, CA '09 just shared graduation at Johnson & Wales campus in Providence, RI. Rachel finished her externship in Colorado and followed-up with a culinary trip to Peru. She is a pastry cook at a ski lodge in Stowe, Vermont. She passed along a chocolate piece from one of her classes at Johnson and Wales:

Alex Dorczuk, CA '09: Alex spent his previous summer at Disney on their culinary team and will be traveling to Brazil following his residency in Florida after a stopover at Delaware's Aqua Sol restaurant.

Rebecca McClain, CA '09: Becky (pictured below) has moved on from Bing's in Newark, DelTech and Johnson & Wales, Providence, Rhode Island. Becky is now part of the baking team at the Hotel duPont.

Genevieve Schaffer, CA '09: Part of the culinary program at DelTech in Dover, 'Vivian' is in her second year of college. As part of her class, she travelled to Italy to study the ins and outs of local cuisine, regional cooking and wine tasting in the Piceno valley.

Melissa Rubincan, CA '09: After taking the Gold Medal at the SkillsUSA National Competition in Food and Beverage Service, Melissa (pictured below, front center) attended New England Culinary Institute (NECI) on a scholarship. Melissa was selected for the WorldSkills 2011 competition. She travelled to London, England to compete on the international stage in the Fall. See her profile at: Melissa graduated from NECI with her BS in the summer, 2012 and is now part of the management team with Panera.

Stephanie Walker, CA '08: Stephanie is well grounded in the culinary field as Catering Sales & Coordinator for the Ed Oliver Golf Course. Using her amazing organizational skills, she is learning the ins & outs of catered foodservice operations.

Cristina Cafini, CA '08: Cristina finished her work at Liz Marden Pastry and was recently featured in the Wilmington News Journal while working on a cake for the Delaware Drama League. Cristina was recently married and opted to have the Culinary Arts program cater her reception!

Charnice & Cherelle Brinkley, CA '08: Charnice and Cherelle finished their senior year of high school while starting their college careers at Johnson & Wales in North Carolina. Charnice was pictured working with her Baking & Pastry instructor in the Charlotte Post. Cherelle stopped in to share information about her new adventure; she is headed to Danali, Alaska to work at a resort now that she and her sister have completed their BA degrees at JWU.

Ron Fax, CA '08: On a recent visit 'Fax' told us of his forthcoming venture into the military to pursue his culinary career. He'll be completing Army Basic Training in South Carolina in late winter, 2010.

Cassy Demaio, CA '07/Intern: Cassy was part of the gold-medal winning TechPrep team that traveled to Kansas City in the summer of 2007. On a recent visit, Cassy spoke with the Junior and Sophomore classes about her college experience and life in Miami. Cassy is part of the Panera team in Wilmington.

Matt Marshall, CA '07: In following the footsteps of other Delcastle students, Matt graduated from New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. Matt finished his externship at Harry's Seafood Grill in Wilmington and in New York City. Matt is now serving his country as a member of the US Army.

Amber McGonigle, CA '07: Following through with her co-op position from her senior year, Amber stayed with Panera and is now part of the management team at the Panera unit in Fairfax.

Teresa Mirto, CA '07: After being part of the gold-meal winning team in Kansas City, Teresa finished at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in Pittsburgh and finished an externship at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. Settled in Lancaster, PA, as an assistant pastry chef, one of her dessert plates from Kingsmill:

Christina Tulowitzki, CA '06: Christina has graduated from the California Culinary Academy in May, 2007. Christina is living in California to continue pursuing her baking career.

Tori Drennen, CA '06: Tori has finished the culinary program at DelTech and is pursuing a position in the baking field in the Wilmington area.

Ernie Potts, CA '06: Ernie was basking in the sun of Miami while attending Johnson & Wales. Ernie was part of the culinary team responsible for the food at Super Bowl XLIV. After completing an internship at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, he has returned to Miami.

Sean Velazquez, CA '06: Sean finished his residency at New England Culinary Institute. After finishing his internship in Vero Beach, Sean is working hard at the Ritz Carlton in Florida and working on developing new breakfast concepts. During a recent visit with Sean in Orlando, we learned that he is up for the coveted Ritz Carlton 5-Star Award for Exemplary Service! Sean has taken on the new challenges of learning the ins and outs of butchering in the kitchen of the Ritz.

Anthony Carnevale, CA '05: Anthony wrapped up his internships at the Hotel DuPont and in North Carolina following two years at New England Culinary Institute. Anthony and Sean ('06) graduated from NECI in June, 2008. Anthony has moved from Sous Chef at Domaine Hudson in Wilmington, Delaware to the newly opened Chelsea Tavern. Anthony assumed the role as Executive Chef at Chelsea Tavern in 2011 and most recently was part of the opening team of 16 Mile Tap House in Newark

Kristy Hamm, CA '05: Kristy is continuing her pursuit of her passion of baking. She is the Head Cake Decorator for BJ's Wholesale Club in New Castle, De.

Zach Gamiel, CA 04: After moving on from Delcastle, Zach has stayed the course at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. As a graduate of Delcastle's Culinary Arts program, Zach was appointed to the Career Advisory Board for our program.
